FOURIER TRANSFORM INFRARED ANALYSES

The absorption spectra of different molecular structures and chemical bonds at different wavelengths of infrared radiation are highly characteristic. Using the mathematical processing method of fourier transform, the infrared interference waveform recorded by the detector can be converted into the infrared absorption spectrum, which facilitates comparison with the infrared spectrum of standard compounds to identify their types, and can also be used to quantitatively determine compounds based on the characteristic wavenumbers of chemical bonds. The fourier transform infrared analyses is usually used for the analysis of polymer material composition. We can determine the polymer type of parts by analyzing the functional groups corresponding to the peak positions, referring to the standard spectrum, and also verify the consistency of materials and specifications for different parts.
